Celtic music filled the room as you entered for the evening. Celtic Beats led by Marielle Webster with Ken MacLeod and Ross Ketchum got you right into the spirit of the event! Hors D’oeuvres and cocktail hours gave everyone time to catch up with each other and meet new friends. The NH Pipes and Drums were Co hosts and provided piper Larry Lundt for the call to dinner. Band Manager, Oliver Bateman led the Haggis presentation and the Address to the Haggis by Dave Ward.

Professional Singer, Jessica McCormack awed us with her amazing voice and had us singing along with some Burns favourites. Dinner was Tenderloin of beef with “Neeps and Tatties” and was superb! Performances by the Highland Dancers with pipers from the band playing for them was exciting only to be followed by a huge number of band members coming out to give us a few tunes! The Immortal Memory was an amazing speech given by Dr Warren Smith with his friend (Robert Burns) doing some excerpts of his poems. So well done! I think he was inspired by last year’s speech by Claire MacPherson. She has us wanting to go read more about Robert Burns!

Well it’s not a Burns Night without Ceilidh dancing and a few Gay Gordons and Strip the Willows were danced to the lively Celtic Beats. Great fun and an awesome night. So many different groups – several Pipe bands, Canadian American Club, many Clans, Ulster Scots from Maine…and more! Look for it next January!
